The Skilled Regional 887 visa is a permanent residency visa for holders of eligible provisional skilled visas.
To qualify, applicants must have lived in a specified regional area of Australia for at least 2 years and completed at least 12 months of full-time work in that region.
Applicants must be in Australia at the time of visa application and also when the visa is granted.

Eligibility Criteria for Subclass 887 Visa

You must have held one of these visa
- Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 489)
- Skilled Independent Regional (Provisional) visa (Subclass 495)
- Skilled Designated Area Sponsored (Provisional) visa (Subclass 496)
- Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (Subclass 475 or 487)
- Bridging Visa A or B linked to Subclass 495, 487, or 489 application
Additional requirements include:
- At least 2 years of residence in a designated regional area of Australia
- Minimum 12 months of full-time work (35+ hours per week) in the region
- Compliance with all previous visa conditions
- Meeting health and character requirements
- No outstanding obligations related to sponsorship (if applicable)
Health and Character Requirements
You may be required to provide:
- Medical examination results
- Police clearance certificates for all countries lived in for 12 months or more in the past 10 years
- Character documents for all applicants aged 16 years and above
Australian Government Debt
Before visa approval, you must have no unpaid debts to the Australian Government.
If any debts exist, they must be fully cleared or formally arranged.
